Ingredients
Method
- Heat a large, nonstick soup pot over medium-high heat. Lightly mist it with spray.
- Add the turkey and cook it, breaking it into bite-sized chunks as you do.
- Add the onion and cook, stirring occasionally, until the onion is tender, the turkey is no longer pink throughout, and there is no excess water in the pan, about 5 minutes.
- Stir in the crushed and diced tomatoes, chili powder, brown sugar, cocoa powder, chipotle chili powder, and bay leaf.
- Cover the pot with a lid and cook over low heat for at least 2 hours, stirring occasionally.
- Stir in the hot sauce and season with salt and pepper to taste. Allow it to cool to warm, then refrigerate any chili not consumed.
