Devin Alexander is committed to making this website usable by everyone, including people with disabilities. Accessibility is not a checkbox for us — it is part of how we think the web should work.

Conformance status

The Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) define requirements for designers and developers to improve accessibility for people with disabilities. This site targets WCAG 2.1 Level AA.

This website is currently partially conformant with WCAG 2.1 Level AA. “Partially conformant” means that most of the content meets the standard, but some parts do not yet. The specific gaps we know about are listed below, along with what we are doing about them.

What we have done

• Every image in our media library carries descriptive alternative text.
• Body copy is set at 18px with generous line spacing, and the site reflows cleanly when text is enlarged up to 200%.
• Text and interface colors meet or exceed the 4.5:1 contrast ratio required for normal text, and 3:1 for large text.
• Every interactive element shows a clearly visible focus indicator when reached by keyboard.
• Each page has a single, correctly ordered heading structure with one H1.
• The site is tested with automated accessibility tooling (axe-core, WCAG 2.0 and 2.1 A and AA rulesets) after every significant change.

Known limitations

We would rather tell you what is not finished than pretend otherwise.

• Video captions. Some video content on this site does not yet have accurate captions. We are adding them and will update this statement when that work is complete.
• Third-party embedded forms. Our email signup form is provided by a third-party service and rendered inside an embedded frame. We have styled it for contrast and legibility, but we do not control every aspect of its markup. If you have trouble using it, email us and we will sign you up directly.
• Older PDF documents. Some downloadable documents produced before this site was built may not be fully tagged for screen readers. We will supply an accessible version of any document on request.

How this site was assessed

Accessibility of this website was evaluated using a combination of automated testing with axe-core 4.10 against the WCAG 2.0 and 2.1 Level A and AA rulesets, and manual review including keyboard-only navigation, heading and landmark structure, and color contrast measurement.
