I never feel like salads I make at home are as good as salads I buy. My salads always seems to be soggy! Do you have any tips for making great salads at home? – Callie B., Washington DC
The key to making great salads at home that don’t get soggy is to make sure you’re washing and drying all your ingredients. I’d recommend investing in a good salad spinner – it will make a huge difference and they aren’t very expensive.
To add extra crispiness and crunch (and more nutrients too!) consider adding a bit of kale, red cabbage or other “crunchy” vegetable like chopped broccoli. I do that all that time…and they totally liven up my salads.
Hope this helps!
